The Importance of the Survey for Premium Projects
For premium and luxury kitchen projects, the pre-installation survey is not merely advisable — it is essential. A kitchen worth £20,000 or more cannot be installed on the basis of approximate measurements. Our surveyors visit your home with laser measuring equipment to take a complete dimensional record of the space, assess the condition of the walls, floor, and ceiling, and review the manufacturer's drawings against the reality of the room.
At this stage we identify any modifications required before the kitchen arrives — whether that is remedial plastering to bring walls into plumb, re-routing of pipework to suit the new layout, or adjustments to the kitchen plan itself. Catching these issues before delivery avoids the cost and delay of corrective work after installation has begun.
Our survey fee is £195, credited back in full when you proceed with the installation. For a premium project, this investment is returned many times over in avoided complications and a better finished result.
Precision Installation for Handmade & German Kitchens
German-engineered kitchens are characterised by their consistent precision: every carcass is machined to the same dimensions, every drawer runs on the same hardware, and every fitting is designed to align perfectly. Achieving this in the real world of domestic properties — where floors are rarely perfectly level and walls are rarely perfectly straight — requires skilled use of packing, scribing, and levelling techniques that come only with experience.
Handmade British kitchens, particularly those with painted or in-frame construction, demand a different kind of precision. Large painted doors are susceptible to movement if the cabinet structure is not perfectly level from the outset. In-frame doors must sit within their frame with consistent, even gaps on all sides — a standard that requires careful adjustment during installation and a snagging process that checks every door and drawer before sign-off.
We do not rush premium projects. Our lead fitters allocate the time needed to deliver the standard these kitchens require, and we remain on site until every detail is correct.
