Can You Fit Appliances?
Yes. We fit all built-in appliances including ovens, hobs, dishwashers, washing machines, extractor fans and fridges. Electrical connection of hardwired appliances (ovens, hobs) requires a qualified electrician, which we recommend you arrange separately.
- We fit all integrated kitchen appliances
- Ovens and hobs require an electrician for hardwired connection
- Dishwashers and washing machines require a plumber for water connections
- Co-ordinate your electrician and plumber in advance
Appliance Fitting
Appliance installation is included within our standard kitchen installation service. We fit all types of integrated kitchen appliances — what we do varies by appliance type.
Ovens and Hobs
Built-in ovens are positioned in their housing units, secured with the manufacturer's fixing brackets, and connected to the electrical supply. The electrical connection of a hardwired oven or hob (a 6mm or 10mm radial circuit) must be made by a Part P qualified electrician — this is a legal requirement. We position and fit the appliance; your electrician makes the connection. The same applies to electric hobs and induction hobs.
Extractor Fans and Cooker Hoods
Extractor fans and cooker hoods are fitted as part of our standard installation. Ducted extractors require routing of a duct to an external wall or ceiling void — the routing should be discussed and planned at the survey stage. Recirculating extractors require only electrical connection, made by your electrician.
Dishwashers and Washing Machines
Integrated dishwashers and washing machines are positioned in their housing units and connected with their fascia doors. The plumbing connections — water inlet, waste outlet — are made by your plumber as part of second-fix plumbing.
Fridges and Freezers
Integrated fridge-freezers and under-counter fridges are positioned and secured within their housing units. Connection to the electrical supply is by plug and socket — no electrician is required for standard refrigeration appliances.
Related Questions
Gas connections must be made by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We fit the hob into the worktop cutout; your gas engineer makes the gas connection. This is a legal requirement — never connect gas appliances yourself.
Yes — range cookers (freestanding or semi-integrated) are fitted as part of the kitchen installation. Gas range cookers require a Gas Safe engineer for the gas connection.
Yes — boiling water taps (Quooker, Brita, etc.) are fitted as part of the installation. They require both plumbing connections (made by your plumber) and an electrical connection to a socket under the sink.
Appliance dimensions are checked against unit dimensions during the pre-installation survey. If a conflict is identified, we advise on the solution before installation day.
