What Exactly Does Kitchen Installation Include?

Professional kitchen installation includes cabinet assembly and installation, worktop fitting, door and drawer fitting, handle fitting, plinths, cornices and all trims, appliance and sink positioning, and a full snagging check. It does not include plumbing, electrical, or gas connections.

Full List of What Is Included

A professional kitchen installation covers the following scope of work: delivery check and sorting of units on site; assembly of flat-pack carcasses where applicable; levelling and fixing of all base units; fitting and fixing of all wall units; cutting and fitting of all worktops including jointing and cut-outs for sink and hob; hanging and calibrating all doors and drawer fronts; fitting all handles and knobs; fitting plinths, cornices, pelmets, and all trim items; scribing filler panels to walls; positioning integrated appliances within their housings; positioning sink within the worktop cut-out; and a full snagging check at completion to identify and correct any remaining issues.

What Is Not Included — and Why

Kitchen installation labour does not include plumbing connections, electrical connections, or gas connections. These elements require specific qualifications — Gas Safe registration for gas work, Part P notification for certain electrical work, and professional liability insurance for plumbing. Specialist trades carry these qualifications and the associated liability. Attempting to have an unqualified person carry out these connections is dangerous and potentially illegal. Your project will require a plumber to connect the sink and any water-fed appliances, and an electrician for hardwired appliances. These tradespeople are co-ordinated around the kitchen installation programme.
