Do You Fit Worktops?
Yes. We fit all worktop types including laminate, solid wood, quartz, granite and compact laminate. Templating for stone worktops is arranged separately — we co-ordinate with your worktop supplier. Laminate worktops can be supplied and fitted directly by us.

- Stone worktops (quartz, granite): require separate templating by specialist supplier
- Solid wood worktops: supplied and fitted, require sealing
Worktop Fitting
Worktop fitting is included as part of our standard kitchen installation service. The type of worktop affects the installation process, so here is what to expect for each material.
Laminate Worktops
Laminate is the most common worktop material in the UK, offering a wide range of appearances at an accessible price. Laminate worktops can be supplied directly by Install My Kitchen in a wide range of finishes, or you may supply your own. We cut and fit laminate on site using specialist tools, creating precise cutouts for sinks and hobs and clean joints where worktops meet at corners.
Solid Wood Worktops
Solid wood (oak, walnut, beech) worktops require careful handling during installation. They must be acclimatised to the room temperature before cutting, and all cut ends and the underside must be sealed with food-safe oil to prevent moisture ingress. We supply and fit solid wood worktops and provide sealing as part of the installation service.
Stone Worktops (Quartz, Granite, Dekton)
Stone worktops cannot be cut on site — they are templated and cut by a specialist stone fabricator. The process is: base units are installed and levelled first; the stone supplier visits to template (measure precisely); the template is taken to the fabricator who cuts the stone; the stone supplier returns to fit approximately 5–10 working days after templating. We co-ordinate this process with your stone supplier and ensure the base units are ready for templating at the right point in the installation programme.
Compact Laminate (Silestone, Dekton)
Compact laminate and sintered stone worktops (Silestone, Dekton, Lapitec) are installed using the same specialist supplier process as natural stone. We co-ordinate with your chosen supplier.
Related Questions
We supply laminate and solid wood worktops. For stone (quartz, granite, Dekton), you will need a specialist stone supplier. We are happy to recommend local stone suppliers if required.
Laminate worktops typically take 2–4 hours to fit for a standard kitchen. Stone templating is a 30–60 minute visit; stone fitting takes 2–4 hours. Both are included within the overall installation programme.
We primarily install complete kitchens rather than standalone worktop replacements. If you need a worktop replacement only, please enquire and we will advise whether this is within our current capacity.
Stone is templated precisely after units are installed and levelled, so fitting problems are rare. If an issue arises, it is typically resolved between the stone supplier and the fabricator.
